Are We Real? (Ponder the Mystery)

So, The Matrix covers todays topic pretty well, and was indeed an inspiration for it, so if you haven’t seen it, then you really should watch it. It is down as one of the greatest films of all time so you are missing out! In the film, the idea is that the world we live in isn’t real. It is all a simulation to prevent is from knowing and understanding the horrors of the real world.

My question today is quite simple. What if that is reality? We already know, and it is quite obvious that there is a lot that we don’t know. The government hides loads from us because they fear our response to the truth. This isn’t just my theory, it is the truth. There are leaked official documents on the internet of UFO sightings by the government, which they refused to make public, confirming the sightings of UFOs, and there are other leaked documents about other things.

I am not some crazy conspiracy theorist, and this is the first time I have mentioned anything relating to cover-ups on my blog (I think) but “The Truth Is Out There, Skully”. Anyway, enough of the science-fiction mumbo jumbo, that has nothing to do with todays topic. My question to all of you, and I want your honest opinions. Have you ever though that maybe what we are living isn’t actually the real world? I know I have. What is it that powers life?

If you don’t believe in God, like me, then I am sure you spend a lot of time Pondering the Mystery of life. It is absurd that everything we can do, and have seen is possible, and it all at some point came from nothing, so the idea, that this isn’t reality, and we are merely dreaming, or we are living some kind of simulation makes a lot of sense. What definitive proof is there that this life we live is real? No one really knows. In my opinion, there isn’t enough of an explanation as to how mankind came about, and how life itself began. The human race is, and has always, been in the dark. We don’t know how life started. We don’t know what powers us, and what makes us alive. We will never know. This is why I am scared, and yet also excited to die. When I do, I will find out the truth. Or will I? What if after death there is just rot, and decay? No one knows. This is why I am just as scared as I am excited.

Even if you are religious, I am sure there is some part of you that is still nervous. Religion is not based on facts, it is based on belief. This is why I am an atheist. As soon as a religion exists with 100% proof that it is the truth, I will convert to it. Until that day, I am going to continue Pondering the Mystery.

P.S: Whilst I like the message in the William Shatner song, the video is kind of funny, which is why I kept referencing it.

Perfect Life (Poem)

Blue seeps though this blackness
Yet no birds lurk among the leaves
I can’t sleep through this loneliness
Someones loving presence is all I need

Take a moment to look around
There are no leaves on the trees
In this cold there is no sound
Yet a perfect world everyone sees

No one can see through my skin
They can’t see this hurt buried deep inside
Unknown is this life full of sin
And the demons haunting my tainted mind

As the sky returns to black
I know this time I won’t be set free
Soon, it will come before I crack
A new life, then, I shall see

Why I Will Never Kill Myself

So people out there in the world have loads of things going on in there lives all of the time. You never know what someone is thinking, or what is going on behind the curtains. They may hold a strong public image, but in the background they are having serious issues merely staying alive.

Today we are going to discuss the different perspectives people seem to have of suicide, why people are pushed to this, and why I personally, will never kill myself.

First of all, people are pushed to the edge every day. As an example, an ex of mine had loads of stuff happen to her. We are talking rape, abuse, she was made homeless. All of this was going on, and some of it while I was with her as well. Now she wanted to kill herself. In all fairness it is understandable. However, she didn’t. I am genuinely surprised that she didn’t, but she didn’t, nonetheless. She was strong, and yet unfortunately everything she had got through had scarred her both physically and emotionally, and therefore, this was one of the reasons we didn’t work out in the end.

She got through all of that, and is still around today to tell the tale. How come she hasn’t killed herself, and yet people who have been through less have?

Well it comes down to loneliness, personal strength, and experience. Yes I said the word experience. This may sound weird, but hear me out. First of all, if you have friends, you can come through almost anything. Now I have no friends almost still to this day, and I have come out of everything I have been through, but that leads onto the second point. Personal strength. I am not going to lie, emotionally I am strong. Very strong. I haven’t been psychologically affected by what I have been through really. The only way it has had an impact on me is that I don’t trust people. Like, anyone. Ever. I just don’t trust anyone. That is probably the only thing that has happened as a result of my life. Some people are weaker then others. If you let things get to you easily, then they will affect you more, and you will let these problems take over your life, and you fear they will stay for the rest of your life. The final factor is experience. You need experience with life’s issues. You need to learn to always expect the worst in every situation. This is what I do. You also need to understand that things will get better. I know this from experience. Everyones life has good moments. If you are on a downer you need to always realize that a) there is someone out there who has it worse then you, and b) the future will get better. No matter what. I know this. I know that in the future, I will find myself a wife, we will have children, and I will be on a well paid job. Of course, I have no way of knowing this for certain, but I have hope. I also know that I won’t settle for anything else, and the sheer determination I hold inside me is enough of a drive to get me to my goal.

Of course, some people can’t see these things. I know because I have been in a situation of pure sadness, and you feel like the world will never change. However when your head clears, you start to see things clearly again. After I broke up with my fiancée  I felt terrible. I felt like my life had no meaning. Then time passes. You realize that it just wasn’t meant to be. You pick yourself, dust yourself off and move on. Why? Because the entire world isn’t a bad place. There is someone out there for you. You will  have better days. You will become happy again.

Now to go the second part of this article. Peoples opinions.

People have varying opinions on the subject of suicide. They both make sense in some lights. A lot of people think that suicide is selfish, and people shouldn’t take there lives when it will wreck other peoples as well. I understand this, and I can see where they are coming from. If someone is distraught, and feels terrible, and wants to take there life, of course they should think about everyone else, and what will happen to others if they take there own life, however, if someone is so unhappy in there life that they have that thought and are pushed to this point then is it really fair to expect them to stay alive just for other people?

Then there is my opinion, and most other peoples. If someone is having a terrible life, and they see no possible increase in happiness in even the distant future, I feel they have a right to end there own life. It is there’s to do with as they please. It is terrible if someone wants to do this of course, but if they are pushed to it, then it is there own choice.

On the other hand… let me talk for a moment about teen suicides. What utter bullshit! Now, there are legitimate cases out there of teens who really do have terrible lives. They really have had terrible things happen to them. Ok, I can understand them wanting to end there own lives. If, however, there is a 14 year old girl who is being bullied, and her parents don’t seem to care or whatever. First of all, talk to someone. Secondly, call the NSPCC if they really don’t care or if it is upsetting. Thirdly, wait it out. I was bullied. I got through it. I am still here. I haven’t even come close to my breaking point. Those kind of teen suicides I think are stupid. That isn’t enough of a reason. You haven’t even lived through the really difficult stuff in life. The stuff that really pushes you to the limits of what you can take. Of course, if you are going through more, then this is a real reason for you to want to kill yourself. If you are being abused, raped, or anything else, it is understandable. However if you are just being bullied a bit? No, this isn’t enough.

So I will never ever kill myself. I have hope for the future. I know my life will bring good things to me in time. No I don’t have faith, I don’t believe in a God. I don’t believe something will come and save me. I need to work for my happiness. All the stress I have been through and come out of is just life’s way of testing me. I will reap the rewards one day. Life can be a bitch, but you fight through it.

Everyone out there, stay strong, and have a good, positive day. Like, comment, follow, and do whatever else if you enjoyed this article.

R.I.P. Jack Bruce

So this is just going to be a quick extra post for today, after the recent passing of the amazing bass player of the legendary rock band ‘Cream’. This band were extremely influential to me, and were the band that started my interest in blues, and incorporating rock with blues. They actually, in my eyes, are the band that invented rock music. They took blues, made the guitars heavier, and made that sound. Countless bands over the years have copied this, and without them, I don’t know where music would be.

Jack Bruce was also the man who sung on a lot of there songs as well. To those who don’t know him, or them as well he did a lot of singing on there huge hit ‘Sunshine of Your Love’ which pretty much everyone knows. This man was a great inspiration to the world, and it is a shame that he has gone, and he will be sorely missed.

He unfortunately died of liver disease, and this was noticeable during the last few years of his life, however he still had a smile on his face, and it is glad to see that he was still enjoying himself. He passed away on the 25th October, surrounded by his family, which is a pleasant way for him to go, and for that, I am glad.

Jack Bruce, I hope you are having a great time wherever you are now, and you are in a better place then you were for the last few years of your life.

Rest in Peace.

Thanks all for reading!

Why Are We Here?

Why do we exist? What is our purpose? What is the point in life? Well, we make our own goals in life, but overall there is no real target, other than to die, which is a depressing thought, so if our lifetime goal, is inevitably, to die, then why are we here? Why do you live where you do, and what is the point of your existence?

Well to answer that we need to delve deeper into who ‘WE’ are. Well ‘WE’ are humans. Modern humans have existed for about 200,000 years, but society as we know it hasn’t really been around for long. The television was invented less than 100 years ago. Modern pop music has been around for, well, it changes all of time, so if life as we know it changes all of the time, then surely it is impossible to pinpoint exactly the meaning of human life. Maybe our existence does have a purpose, but we just don’t know it yet. Maybe we have to continue our evolution to discover our purpose on earth.

However, if we have a purpose, then surely the dinosaurs must have also had a purpose. Maybe, if they had had more capable brains, they too would have been asking themselves ‘Why are we here?’ in the long scheme of things, they just existed to inevitably, die. So who is to say that we aren’t here just to die in the end?

Plato had an interesting theory on the subject of the supposed ‘Meaning of Life’. His philosophy is known now as Platonism. It is that the meaning of life, is to attain the highest form of knowledge, which is Good.

Another interesting theory I will quickly discuss is Utilitarianism, which originated in the 19th Century. It states that all possible acts can be divided into ‘Good’ things, which provide pleasure to people, and ‘Bad’ things, which provide pain to people, and the way you lead your life should be focused on providing pleasure to the largest number of people. However, this theory has many flaws, but a follower of this theory could say that the reason we are here, is to provide pleasure to the most amount of people? I am not talking about some kind of massive orgy by the way.

There are other theories, some less explanatory then others. One I particularly find interesting is ‘Naturalistic Pantheism’ which states that the meaning of our life and existence is to care for nature and the environment. Another is ‘Logical Positivism’ which asks the questions I have asked ‘What is the meaning of life?’ and ‘What is the meaning in asking?’ and it also asks ‘Is life meaningless?’. However it goes on to say that the meaning of every person’s life, and every person’s existence, is the sum of his achievements. So if you make the most out of your life, try hard, and achieve everything there is to achieve, the meaning of your life was to create that amount of happiness for yourself and for everyone around you.

Now all of those theories are good, but they still doesn’t really solve the main question, which is why are we here? People who believe in God, will say that we are here because God put us here, but then this creates many more questions, Why did God create us? Why was God created? Who created God? I am not here to question religious beliefs at all, because scientific theories also have so many holes in them, and at the end of it all, no religion, or theory can answer the simple question of Why we are here.

We may never find out the real reason for our existence, right up until all human life is wiped off of the earth, and we are replaced, but that is no reason for us to not make the most of our time. Just because life has no real goal, does not mean that we shouldn’t make our own goals, because every single person on this planet plays a role in the events that happen on the entire earth, so whilst our time here may be short, it really is a good idea to make the most of it.

The Suicide of Brenda Leyland, and the McCann’s Conspiracy Theory

Today, I am going to be posting something extra on this blog after hearing about Brenda Leyland’s death. It saddened me to hear about it. Why? She killed herself because of being threatened by the police for trolling. This pushed her over the age. So let’s just think… on posts, people can say racist things about people who have died, people can go on 9/11 Police phone call recordings and criticize those who died, and this woman gets called a troll just for having an opinion? This is not right. No one who is sane will view this as right.

Also, no one should be happy that someone killed themselves. Brenda Leyland may not have been the best person, but she committed suicide, and no matter how bad someone is, you shouldn’t be happy that they have died. McCann’s parents left Madelaine alone in a house when she was really young, so they are at fault, and her blood was found in her parents car. There are many reasons to suspect that they were up to no good. Brenda was not a troll. She just said that there should have been a bigger investigation, and especially the investigation of the parents. I agree with her in this aspect.

This has only been a short post for me, but I had to get my opinion out there. Those of you who disagree with me, feel free to state your opinion in the comments. For those of you wanting to do more research on the ‘untold’ parts of the McCann story, check out these links:

What Is More Important?

So… I always start with so… I really need to stop that. I feel like I have said this before now. Deja Vu…

What is more important to you? Love or money? The two do correlate with each other sometimes. You can’t really keep a relationship going if you have no money. Well you can, but the stress of never being able to get anything really makes things tense, trust me I know, but what is more important? Would you rather have an amazing partner, or a million pounds, or dollars, or what ever currency you have where you are from?

What is more important? Fame or Fortune? Would you rather be famous, and go down in history as being an amazing person at a subject of your choice, but not get that much money for it, or be rich for the rest of your life, but with no recognition?

Or how about friends or family? The list is almost endless of hard questions about what is more important to you.

Now all of these things really matter to people. Understandably so, but what is really more important in the world? All of these things cause happiness to people, and with none of those things, most people would be depressed, and would feel like there life had almost no meaning, but each to there own. Everyone has something they prefer, but in terms of everyone, what is really the most important thing, undeniably so? Well I googled this, and this is the link I found. I am an atheist, and therefore to me the top answer is void, however the likes to dislikes says a lot.

I looked up the statistics of what people seem to think. Devoted religious believers all seem to think that there faith is most important to them. People not as devoted, or atheists mostly said family. Some others said friends, but drastically less. Some others (again a much lower percentage however) said money, followed by power. Then there are others who put pussy as number one… nothing needs to be said about that.

What do YOU, the reader, think is more important to you in this life? Is it friends? Family? Money? Even if it is pussy, leave it in the comments below. Let me know YOUR opinion. Personally, I think music is above everything to me. A controversial opinion probably, but I could lose my entire family, and if I had music that I could relate to, I could get through it all. With music I could get through anything. I know I am probably one in a million, but it is what I feel. Tell me your opinion anyway!

Thanks for reading, comment your opinion and feel free to follow if you enjoyed the post!
