Money Makers on YouTube

So I assume most people watch YouTube. If that isn’t the case then how come Gangnam Style has like 2 billion views? That is a third of the planet pretty much. It is crazy to think a song like that became so popular! I don’t understand it, he is someone else who has pretty much no talent, but I have already talked about the modern music industry. I am here today to talk to you about the money makers on YouTube. For example: PewDiePie. Ali-A. KSI. All of these super popular idiots on YouTube. They are money makers. I call them ‘Fake’ Youtubers. Why? Because they are fake. They pretend they are reacting to something in a way, and they pretend they are excited for something, or they pretend like they really give a shit about there viewers. Do they? No.

PewDiePie is my arch nemesis. I hate him with an extreme passion. Girls fancy him so they watch him. End of. He isn’t funny. He isn’t unique. He doesn’t do anything worthwhile at all. He got loads of love because he donated a bit of money to charity. What he really did was donate a small amount of his money to chairty because he knew he would attract even more people to his channel so he would make more money then he gave out. That is it. End of.

People like this mainly annoy me because of the amount of videos they release. At least one day, or some, maybe even two, and they make a fuck ton of money out of it. To put it into perspective, at this rate PewDiePie makes 8 million a year. I have heard people say he doesn’t do it for the money. In response I burst out laughing. He does it for the money. If he didn’t, he wouldn’t upload videos in the, what I call ‘bulk upload’ process. When one day, every 2 weeks or whatever, you sit down, play a few games, record you playing them, split the gameplay into loads of parts to make more videos out of them, again so you make more money, and then upload them to YouTube.

I may seem extremely critical of PewDiePie, well loads of YouTubers are the same. Pointless videos just to make money. It is so annoying. Ali-A and KSI are exactly the same. I hate them both. I liked KSI back when he was smaller a bit, but now he is just obsessed with money! Just like all the big YouTubers! It is too annoying. Apparently YouTube are changing there policy soon, to focus more on quality then quantity. They are making so you get put higher up in the search list if you upload videos of better quality rather then constantly uploading videos. All I have to say is, it took them long enough.

Anyway, thanks all for reading. Comment with your opinions if you want, and follow and like if you enjoyed this post!

We Need Better Sound Engineers

I am not saying all sound engineers suck, but I have been to too many concerts with idiots on the mixing desk! I am in the process of qualifying to be a sound engineer, and I seem to know a lot more then most of the people doing the jobs themselves. I saw a band the other day called Anathema, and they were great, but the sound engineers did a terrible job, and I mean terrible.

First of all, the band were late coming on because they couldn’t fix a problems with one of the mics. This lasted about twenty minutes. They also wrapped one of the leads connecting the mic around to tight, meaning if one of the members had just tried to move it, it would have pulled the mic out of the socket.

After this, during the first two songs there was constant feedback. They didn’t even try and fix it until one of the band members said something to one of the engineers! This is just terrible! I always seem to be attending concerts were there are loads of problems with the sound! I don’t know if it is like it in other places, but I can tell you one thing, we really do need better sound engineers.

From what I have heard it is because there are too little people trained to be sound engineers out there, so they have loads of open vacancies. This is great for people like me, because it means we have a better chance of getting a job, but it isn’t good for the actual shows themselves. We need more sound engineers, and mainly ones who are good! All of the roles were filled the other night, and yet the job they did was terrible. I know Anathema’s songs are quite complex because there are lots of different instruments, which means lots of channels, but come on! Sorting feedback is simple! You just need to send the signal to an Aux channel and add a High Pass Filter! It takes like two seconds if you know how to do it right!

I assume it is because the Slade Rooms (the place I saw Anathema at) had to scrape the bottom of the barrel for sound engineers because it is a very small venue, but they could have at least got people who knew what they were doing, and it doesn’t give the other venues that I saw bigger bands at an excuse. I saw Metallica at the LG Arena in 2008 and for all of the support act you could barely hear the vocals. The entire 45 minute set.
