Women Shouldn’t Have To Wear Makeup

So I am sort of a feminist. I mean, I have never thought about it until over the last few days, but I believe in equal rights, I believe in equal pay, equal opportunities, so how am I not a feminist? I also know I gained a good few of my followers from my previous posts about women, and how they are degraded in everyday life, so I thought I would continue the trend with todays post about why women should not have to wear makeup.

Women are forced to wear makeup in todays society. It is literally compulsory. If you don’t you are seen as ugly by most other women and men. It is just how the world works. It shouldn’t be this way, but it is. Society has engrained this idea of the ‘perfect’ women with her hourglass figure, highlighted features, and perfect skin. This isn’t the perfect women. Why? Because there is no perfect woman. In fact, what is seen by society to be the perfect woman is perhaps as far from perfect as you can get.

Let’s think. To achieve and maintain this ‘perfect’ image you need to starve yourself most of the time, or binge eat. You need to draw around or on your face with a pen for no real good reason, you need to add color to your skin, again for no reason, and finally you need to burn your hair into a style seen as attractive using straighteners or curlers.

What on earth made people think that is attractive? Whoever invented makeup is stupid. When I went on my first date with my current girlfriend I actually said to her ‘don’t wear makeup because I want to see your natural beauty’. Of course, she refused, but she refused because she doesn’t want the judgemental eyes of society thinking she is unattractive when in actual fact, if you have the guts to go out of your house with no makeup on, that means you have confidence in your natural beauty, and you don’t need to go out in a mask of makeup.

So ladies, why not go out with no makeup on, and show people yourself? And men, why not appreciate your girlfriends real looks, instead of her fake looks? If you tell a girl she is beautiful with no makeup on, I think that is one of thr biggest compliments you can give a girl.

Video Games. Good or Bad?

So everyone knows about Call of Duty. That game where you go and kill people and shoot up everything.  The youngsters thing it is cool whilst the elders think it encourages violence. I think however that in reality every normal person realises that really video games are in fact bad. You sit on your ass and twiddle your thumbs for hours, well how can that be good?

To begin, there are positives of gaming. First, there is the obvious advancement in your social life if you game online with friends. This of course, isn’t as good as actually going out and talking to people, but it is a step in the right direction. Then, there is the boost in hand-eye coordination. Whilst only a small benefit, it is still there, and it is still something.

In my opinion the number one reason people are so attracted to video games is because they are escapism. They are sort of like movies except they also pull the gamer into there world by making you feel like you have to work to advance the storyline. You feel like you have great control over he story, especially games with different endings and choices, like the Mass Effect series. You feel like this, even though in fact you are stuck to preprogrammed sequences.

The final positive of video games is that sometimes, and I need to express the sometimes, they can provide help, and even training for real life situations. This is usually in the form of simulators. The Sims is actually a perfect example of showing how determination and effort can help you in careers, life, and it also teaches youngsters that saving money can help you. Something that a lot of couch potatoes need to get into there skulls.

Here come the negatives. Firstly, it can cause deep vein thrombosis. Yeah I started with something more scary then anything. If you stay still for too long and don’t exercise your muscles in can cause, sort of blood clots in your veins and arteries, and it is detrimental towards your blood flow, which can cause life threatening issues.

Also of course, gaming has no long-lasting positive outcome in your life. Sure it feels great working towards that 50G achievement on Xbox, but that is only short time happiness. Will that really help you in your life? Then there is the fact that sitting around doing nothing is just plain lazy.

Finally, you feel bad about yourself. Not just because you know you could be doing better things, but also because staying still with have detrimental effects on your weight, muscle tone, and growth, if you don’t keep fit alongside this. This is why you should do what I do. Don’t play much video games, but when you do, make sure you still spend time keeping fit, healthy, and maintaining an active, real, social life. Not just a virtual one through social media.

Anyway, thanks all for reading. Remember to comment your opinion and also like and follow if you enjoyed the article.

What the Media Fails to Tell Us

Now to start this off, I know that the title of this sounds like I am a weird conspiracy theorist with a foil hat on, but I actually am not. I left the hat in the other room. No seriously, I have been studying this for a while, and since what goes on television is always surveyed by the government, I KNOW that what I am saying is true.

Now if you go on BBC (Yeah I am from England but similar shows air in America as well so my point is still valid) you will see loads of normal programs, like Doctor Who, Eastenders or whatever, and then there all these other programs. Some are about the police, and the work that they do to protect the city. Others are about council workers who go and repair houses, or do the plumbing, or stop rat infestations.

If you think about it, it is quite obvious the main reason why these programs air. To make people think that the services provided to you by the council are amazing, and you should always call them if you have a problem, or, of course, pay for some of there other services (a money making ploy).

The main purpose behind this trickery however is to make you blind to all of the terrible work they do. I have actually heard someone say in response to a news article about corrupt policemen ‘Oh but I have seem them do loads of good work on TV’. This is what the council aims to achieve with these programs. Fill your heads with loads of information about all of the good things these companies do, so that you will not pass judgement on all of the bad things they do when you see them on the news.

It is also not unheard of for news articles to be warned by the government not to print things in there papers, and loads of newspapers (especially The Sun) would definitely look the other way if some money was thrown there way. This is not the society we should be living in. We should live in a world of truth. Where if someone makes a mistake, or if someone does wrong, we should know about it. We have a right to know the truth about people who protect us, or the work we pay for.
